Field Trip
The MET | New York, NY | January 15th, 2018
In response to the Metropolitan Museum of Art's new rule, which requires New York residents to
show identification in order to confirm free entry privileges, I arranged a field trip to the Met.
The field trip, offered to day laborers on a street corner in New York City, included round trip transportation, admission, and a meal. This field trip was specifically created for a group of individuals who reside in New York City, but may not be able to enter The Met free of charge due to the new policy. Although the museum policy didn't go in effect until March 1st, I decided to present the trip on January 15th, in commemoration of Martin Luther King Jr Day, in order to honor Dr. King’s vision of equality and opportunity for all.
